Welcome to 50 Days of Scott Eastwood, a Just PMSing original series, where we dive deep into the man, the myth, the legend, Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott. Photo by Gage Skidmore.
In 2014, Scott Eastwood appeared on Extra to promote his movie Fury. Mario Lopez interviewed him, where the two men called each other “partner,” “man,” and “buddy.”
Lopez first asks Eastwood about the movie and then immediately starts fangirling.
“As a side note, dude, I just gotta tell you, I am your dad’s number one fan,” Lopez says.
Eastwood tells him he’s heard that and then Lopez basically begs Eastwood to get Clint Eastwood on Extra. Scott Eastwood has an awkward grin through the entire thing.
Even though Scott Eastwood met Lopez in 2014, it obviously didn’t make a lasting impression on him because during a (bizarre) 2015 interview where Eastwood was promoting The Longest Ride, Eastwood couldn’t remember where Lopez worked.
The interview was essentially a trivia game and one of the questions was who the main host of Extra was. Eastwood thought about it until his co-star Britt Robertson answered correctly (it’s Mario Lopez).
At some point, however, Eastwood and Lopez became actual friends. Eastwood posted on Instagram that he and Lopez did jiu jitsu with some young kid, who is apparently a pro in it.
“Great training bro,” Lopez commented on the photo. “I’m glad Nico took it easy on us.”
Dude, bro, partner, buddy, man, but most importantly: Friends Forever (this is a Saved By The Bell joke, a sitcom Lopez starred in). Thank you.
