Here is where I attempt to blog about Julianne Hough for 100 days straight. This was inspired by Allie Jones’ 500 blogs on Kristin Cavallari, a much funnier read.
In 2008, there was a time when young white blonde woman ruled country music. Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Jessica Simpson, and yes, Julianne Hough.
They ruled so much so that Taylor, Kellie, and Julianne hosted the 2008 CMA Fest and to promote it, they did a photoshoot with People Magazine.
“I didn’t even know she liked to sing country music — so cool,” Taylor says about Julianne. “I saw you at a party, remember at Christmas, and I was like, so star struck.”
This is when Taylor was 18 and Julianne was probably 20 — maybe 21. If you remember, Taylor and Kellie were best friends back then. During the entire photoshoot, Taylor and Kellie are making inside jokes and Julianne is the awkward outsider.
“You have to make fun of yourself,” Taylor tells the camera. “And Julianne is good because she just laughs at everything.” (That is true.)
Julianne tells the camera what makes Taylor and Kellie so awesome — Taylor writes her own songs and isn’t afraid to call out a guy if she doesn’t like him and Kellie is the epitome of a classy woman. Taylor and Kellie tell Julianne how hot she is.
“I was like looking at her and I was like, I need to go work out,” Taylor says. “She’s perfect. She’s like perfect.”
Country music peaked in 2008.
