100 Days of Jules, Day 17: In Footloose, She Really Got To Act

REALLY act.

Here is where I attempt to blog about Julianne Hough for 100 days straight. This was inspired by Allie Jones’ 500 blogs on Kristin Cavallari, a much funnier read.

You may know Julianne Hough as a dancer. Or maybe even as a country singer. But in 2011, she stormed the room and became an actor and starred in Footloose, a movie where she really got to act. Don’t take it from me. Read this quote from an interview when the reporter asks if it was daunting to act in a real movie.

“It wasn’t daunting at all,” she says with a bit of an attitude. “In fact, it was exciting and fun. A lot of people don’t know this, but this is the career path that I’ve always wanted and I’ve been dancing, singing, and acting as long as — well I’ve been singing and acting as long as I’ve been dancing. I’ve just always had the opportunities with the dancing and that’s how people discovered me. But I’ve always wanted to act and I couldn’t think of a better movie to expose myself and you know, like, I get to really act.”

That, in fact, she does. She really gets to act.
